Player Bio

David has been a part of the coaching set up for England and Great Britain since 2013, initially working as assistant coach for the senior and U21 men's teams before transitioning to the women's programme in 2017. He started off as an assistant to both squads before being named head coach in September 2021.

He also became the temporary head coach for England's women at the 2017 Hockey World League Semi-Finals as Danny Kerry was taken ill and has overseen more than 80 matches with the teams, including a home World Cup with England in 2018 and helping GB's women qualify for and win a bronze medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

He previously coached Loughborough Students and played more than 100 international games as a forward for Scotland.
