David made his international debut aged just 18 at the 2009 Champions Trophy but had to wait more than three years for his next appearance, coincidentally at the same tournament in the same city (Melbourne).
Since then, he became a regular for both England and GB, featuring at World Cups, Commonwealth Games and the Rio 2016 Olympics among many other major competitions.
In early January 2023, David played for England at the World Cup in India.
David is a powerful, dynamic and skilful midfielder who creates plenty of chances for his team-mates whilst also chipping in with a number of useful goals, including a hat-trick in the opening game of the 2015 EuroHockey Championships in London.
