Great Britain Men's Team start FIH Pro League home leg with a clinical 4-2 win over India

Great Britain started the match on the front foot, dominating the ball possession and making dangerous runs inside India's circle. Their efforts paid off as they broke the deadlock in the 7th minute through Tim Nurse, who made a brilliant run at the goal line after receiving a pass on the left flank and comfortably chipped it over the Indian goalkeeper and defenders. India went on to equalise in the 14th minute through their captain Harmanpreet Singh's fiery penalty corner strike, ending the first quarter at a 1-1 stalemate.  

The start of the second quarter saw India enjoying the ball possession and creating various goalscoring opportunities. They earned a couple of penalty corners, but GB's defence line managed to avert the danger. India almost took the lead in the closing stage of the first half, but a successful video referral disallowed the goal as the ball hit the back stick of the Indian striker. GB were then awarded a penalty stroke, but Zach Wallace's attempt was well defended by Indian goalkeeper PR Sreejesh, thus ending the first half at 1-1.   

GB started the third quarter on an attacking note as they earned the penalty corner in just the second minute and restored the lead through Tom Sorsby, who scooped the ball into the goal off a rebound. GB rode on the momentum as they doubled the lead through Lee Morton, who found the back of the net from an open play in the 34th minute. The later stage of the quarter saw India putting up an improved attack as they earned penalty corners in quick successions, with the third one getting converted by India captain Harmanpreet in the 43rd minute. India made attacking forays in the final minutes, but GB's defence line stood tall to end the quarter at 3-2.  

GB started the final quarter aggressively and earned the penalty corner in the second minute but missed out on converting it. India also earned a penalty corner in the following minutes, but they missed out on capitalising on it. GB went on to score the fourth goal as Nick Bandurak found the back of the net off a rebound in the 54th minute. With three minutes left, India took off their goalkeeper to bring an extra outfield player but couldn't take advantage of it as GB's defence stood tall to take home a clinical 4-2 win.  

Belgium broke the deadlock through Vanessa Blockmans' penalty corner in the 11th minute of the match. They doubled the lead through Emily White's penalty corner conversion in the 19th minute. China, on the other hand, earned timely penalty corners, but failed to convert their chances.  

Leading by two goals, Belgium rode on the momentum and enjoyed the ball possession for the majority of the third quarter. China managed to pull a goal back through Bingfeng Gu who converted the penalty stroke in the 42nd minute. Belgium restored the two-goal lead in the 48th minute as Louise Versavel slotted the team's third goal in the 48th minute. No goals were scored further as Belgium took control of the proceedings to bag a 3-1 win.
