Wales and England to meet in the pool stage of the Men’s World Cup

Following today’s draw for the FIH Odisha Hockey Men's World Cup 2023, Wales’s and England’s men can look forward to the prospect of a home nations clash in the pool stage, in India next January.
For Wales it will be their first appearance in what is the 15th staging of the men’s world cup as they to continue to make the progress which has saw them qualify and get to a world ranking of 16.
England’s men will be hoping to break their run of 4th place finishes in the last 3 World Cups and get into the medal positions.
Also in Pool D, are hosts India, world ranked 5 and Spain ranked 8th in the world.
The tournament is from 13-29th January 2023 in Bhubaneswar and Rourkela, in the state of Odisha, India.
Pool A: Australia, Argentina, France and South Africa
Pool B: Belgium, Germany, South Korea and Japan
Pool C: Netherlands, New Zealand, Malaysia and Chile
Pool D: India, England, Spain and Wales
