Defender - Senior Women
A central figure for Wales since her debut in 2004, in 2019 Leah set a new record by becoming the most capped Welsh sporting athlete of all time having played 169 times for the country, with the previous record holder (fellow hockey player Paul Edwards) having made 157 appearances.
Captain of the team since 2017, Leah led Wales at the 2017 EuroHockey Championships II in Cardiff – narrowly missing out on promotion to the top tier – before helping them secure a famous 3-2 win over India at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
She then made her Great Britain debut in October 2019, playing all three games in a Test series against India before helping the squad qualify for Tokyo 2020 just a few weeks later.
There were no late night celebrations though as she had to return to her job as a history teacher the next day.
