Richard Smith

London 2012 was Richard’s first Olympic Games, but despite being just 26 the  Portsmouth-born defender is not short of international experience with over 80 caps to his name. Richard, or Smudge as he is commonly known, has played club hockey for City of Portsmouth, Guildford, Loughborough Students, and Hampstead and Westminster, balancing his hockey career with study at Loughborough University where he has been studying for six years and has just completed a Masters in Business Analysis and Management. Back on the pitch, watch out for him halting attacks and lining up at penalty corners.
