Laura Unsworth

One of a number of players who made their senior international debut in October 2008 following the Beijing Olympic Games, Laura Unsworth hails from Sutton Coldfield, the same town as legendary British hockey star Jane Sixsmith MBE. She played at Loughborough Students, whislt studying business and finance at the University and has also played for Leicester and Holcombe before moving to current club East Grinstead.
She was joint runner-up to Helen Richardson-Walsh as Investec Women’s Performance Player of the Season 2011-2012 she is also a European gold medallist from the triumphant 2015 campaign.

A fan of shopping and the theatre, she is particularly proud of her collection of trainers and says she could not leave the house without her fake tan.

Unsworth has appeared in two Olympic competitions, nabbing medals at both. A bronze at the 2012 games and a glorious gold at the 2016 games in Rio.
