Richard LemanRICHARD LEMAN - PRESIDENT
Richard was announced as the President of GB Hockey in January 2008 having previously been England Hockey's representative on the GB Board, a position to which he was appointed in 2005 following his heavy involvement in the discussions that ended up with the Business and Performance agreement being signed by England, Scotland and Wales.

He was voted onto the England Board in 2004 as a Non-Executive having served as a Vice President for the previous year.  He has been involved in many aspects of our sport, in particular with the administration and development East Grinstead Hockey Club.  He is currently the Chair of East Grinstead Sports Club which is the charitable body that runs the multi sport site at East Grinstead.

Having started and managed several successful businesses he is hopeful his combination of commercial skills and hockey knowledge, from a playing perspective, will be helpful as the new GB Board takes shape.

Career Highlights include winning Olympic Bronze in Los Angeles, 1984 and Olympic Gold in Seoul, 1988.  He won a total of 228 caps and was Player of the Year in 1984.  Richard is also Hockey’s representative on the British Olympic Association’s National Olympic Committee and has previously served his three year term as a member of the Sport England South East Regional Board.

Bryn WilliamsBRYN WILLIAMS - INDEPENDENT DIRECTOR
Bryn is a former captain of Wales with over 100 senior indoor and outdoor caps.  He won a bronze medal with Great Britain at the first ever Champions Trophy and was a member of the squad that qualified for the 1980 Moscow Olympics but was withdrawn for political reasons.

Having coached both men and women at club and representative level he managed Wales at the men’s 2001 World Cup Qualifying tournament in Edinburgh and the 2002 Manchester Commonwealth Games.  He was manager of the Great Britain men’s team at the 2003 Vancouver tri-nation tournament.

A Chartered Accountant by profession Bryn spent most of his career in senior operational positions in UK plc’s.  Since 1998 he has been a director and active investor in a number of successful venture capital backed private equity companies.  He is currently chairman and major shareholder of an ICT services business based in South Wales and has a consultancy business supporting organisations in managing development and change.

Bryn was appointed to the GBHL board in June 2006 as one of the two Independent Directors.

Dick ClarkeDICK CLARKE - COMPANY SECRETARY
Dick was an England Indoor International for many years and won a silver medal, as captain of England, at the 1984 European Indoor Championships. He later went on to coach the England Indoor team to two further European silver medals before being England Outdoor coach in the mid-90’s before the ‘professionals’ took over. He is the proud father of three children including Beijing hockey Olympian Jonty.

Dick is Chairman of the Men’s Premier Hockey League Forum.
 
Dick is a Chartered Accountant and is currently finance director of the IT software and consultancy company that he founded six years ago. Previously he spent many years in the accountancy profession, before being appointed Finance Director of a Lloyd’s insurance managing agency which he left in 2003.

Lee CousinsLEE COUSINS - DIRECTOR
Lee became the President of Scottish Hockey in 2008, previously having been Vice-President, and has been Director of the SHU Board since 2000.

He has been involved in the development of Scottish hockey for over 25 years, including positions in International administration, selection, team management and coaching, and was previously a GB selector.  Other positions Lee has held along the way include national youth convenor, East District President, national umpire (and still thinks he can), and President of Inverleith HC.

He vaguely remembers being a player and captain in a number of English, Scottish and American clubs but he has been a qualified coach for 25 years too, still being active at his club and local school.  Lee was an SHU Coach of the Year in 2002/03.

Lee is a graduate in Agricultural Economics from Aberdeen and following post-graduate study at Cornell University has had a career in recreation research and sports policy and strategy, mostly and currently with sportscotland.  He is a member of the National Access Forum in Scotland and a Director of the Nevis Partnership.

David CollierDAVID COLLIER - INDEPENDENT DIRECTOR
David is a former International Class One Umpire and Captain of England Universities . Whilst resident in Dallas he umpired in the USA programme and coached in Bermuda . During his playing career he represented the Midlands, British Universities and was a Staff Coach .

He is currently a member of the FIH Executive Board, the FIH Marketing Committee, the EHF Appointments Committee and is an International Tournament Director and National Umpire Selector .

David is a graduate in Sports Science and Recreation Management of Loughborough University and is Chief Executive of the England and Wales Cricket Board. He has served as the Minister’s Nominee to Sport England and the Minister’s nominee to the British Airports Group and was the recipient of the Sydney Friskin Award for services to hockey in 2003.

Philip KimberleyPHILIP KIMBERLEY - DIRECTOR

Philip Kimberley is Non Executive Chairman of England Hockey and is England Hockey’s representative on the GB board.

Philip has substantial senior business leadership experience much of which was with Burmah Castrol Plc where he ended up as Chief Executive for the Asian region of Castrol, the world renowned lubricants marketing company.

Philip led the rebuilding of England Hockey in his previous capacity of Executive Chairman and also served on the board of Great Britain Hockey from 2003 to 2004 before handing over to Richard Leman. Under Philip’s leadership England Hockey grew from an income of £1.8m employing 25 staff to nearly £7m with 65 staff in 2008 with the reintegration of the performance team, new grant income and sponsorship being the constituents of this expansion. He was a key player in the negotiations which led to the May 2006 signing of the Great Britain Business and Performance Framework agreement.

Philip represented his school, university and more recently various clubs as a hockey player and still plays occasionally.

He has recently taken on the Chairmanship of Nemisys, the web development and systems company and also been appointed a Non Executive Director of UK Sport, and is on the National Anti Doping Project Board.

David FaulknerDAVID FAULKNER - PERFORMANCE DIRECTOR
David Faulkner joined England Hockey as Performance Director in April 2005 following the acquisition of his own business in 2000, of which he remains as non executive Chairman.

He was a member of the 1988 Gold Medal winning hockey squad in Seoul and totalled 225 England and GB international caps.

As a life long member of Havant Hockey Club he achieved National League and Cup success, along with European Cup campaigns.  For the past five years he has been Director of Hockey for the Club. 

He was voted Hockey Writers and National League Player of the Year in 1989.

David is married to Jane and has two sons, Simon and Daniel.

Jason LeeJASON LEE - MEN'S HEAD COACH
Currently the England and Great Britain Senior Men's coach, Jason was also the Team Leader and Head Coach of the Great Britain Men's team who went to the Athens Olympics. Previously, Jason has been an assistant coach to both the Men's and Women's England senior squads attending the European Nations Cup, World Cup, Commonwealth Games and Champions Trophy.
 
Jason began working for English Hockey in 1998 as a Regional Academy Coach when he retired from playing international hockey after competing at the 1998 World Cup. He also represented Great Britain at the 1992 and 1996 Olympics.
 
Previously Jason coached Loughborough Students, taking them from the bottom of the Midland Leagues to the top end of the Premier National League in just six years. Jason resigned from Loughborough after the team failed to win the Premiership Final against Reading in 2003.

Danny KerryDANNY KERRY - WOMEN'S HEAD COACH
Danny's first steps into realm of coaching began at Loughborough University as captain of the Men's 1st XI (before the club ever had 'proper coaches'!).

On finishing a higher degree at Warwick University, Danny started lecturing at Brunel University where he worked with the Men's BUSA team reaching five consecutive BUSA finals (1995-1999) and winning three consecutive finals 1996, 1997, 1998.

At the same time Danny worked with Ealing Ladies HC in the English Hockey League.  During 1997 he was appointed to work as an Assistant coach to the England U18 Men's group becoming Head Coach in 2001.

During 2001 Danny worked as an Assistant coach to the England U21 Men's team during the Junior World Cup Programme. From 2001 he took over as coach to Canterbury Ladies, winning the National Cup in 2003 and a silver medal in the European Cup Winners Cup in 2004.

During 2004 Danny successfully completed his FIH High Performance Coaching Qualification Final Seminar at the Champions Trophy in Pakistan. Following work with the England Women's 'B' group during 2003/4, Danny was appointed as Head Coach to the England Women's Senior Team in 2004.

DEB SMITH - ADMINISTRATOR
Deb has held a number of positions within hockey but is currently the Senior Teams Administrator responsible for the day to day organisation of the England and Great Britain Senior Men’s and Women’s Squads.  She also provides support to the Performance Director, David Faulkner.

She enjoys most sports, the theatre, cycling, roller blading and doing her best to avoid going to the gym!

BEV BLACKBURN - ADMINISTRATOR (GB SUPER LEAGUE)
Beverley grew up in Stourbridge in the West Midlands and went to University in Swansea where she graduated with a degree in Psychology in 2005. She was 2nd team and Club Captain of Swansea University Ladies Hockey Club and after she graduated, Bev was elected into office as the Universities Athletic Union President.   Before joining England Hockey she spent six months working in Australia on a long distance skateboard project called Board Free which was raising money for three predominately children’s charities. In her spare time, Bev loves writing music, skateboarding, going out with friends and family and of course playing hockey!
