Tickets on sale for EuroHockey Championships II

Scotland Anthem EuroHockey 2015
Tickets are now on sale to watch Scotland and Wales women's teams battle to reach the top flight of European hockey this summer.

The Glasgow National Hockey Centre will host the 2019 EuroHockey Nations Championship II event between 4-10 August, with the home team aiming to finish in the top two and win promotion back to the first division at the first time of asking.

It won't be easy for Scotland though as they come up against Austria, Ukraine and the Czech Repubic in Pool A, the latter of whom was also relegated two years ago.

They could then face Wales in the semi-finals as the fellow Home Nations team aim to reach the EuroHockey Nations Championship for the first time, having just missed out when they hosted this tournament in 2017.

The Welsh also have a tricky group to overcome first though, including Italy - who surprised everyone by making the quarter-finals of last year's World Cup - as well as Poland and Turkey.

Speaking about the event, Scotland women's head coach Jen Wilson believes home support will be crucial and is urging as many people as possible to attend the event.

“I am a firm believer that a crowd that is fully behind the team can effectively be another player on the field,” she said.

“With the enthusiasm and support for the game that we have seen across Scotland, that will undoubtedly have a huge impact.”
