Great Britain Hockey announce new Independent Non-Executive Director

GB Hockey are pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Thompson MBE to the GBH Board.

Paul is currently Chief Coach at British Rowing and brings a wealth of experience gained through more than 30 years of working in high performance sport. Paul has held key positions in Rowing Australia, the Australian Institute of Sport as well as with British Rowing and has a proven track record of delivering strategic vision and contributing at all levels across the sport both here in the UK and in Australia.

Author of two books and a key note speaker at executive leadership conferences across a range of industries, Paul is an accomplished sports administrator who will bring a different perspective to complement the skills and abilities of the current board.

Sheila Morrow, GB Hockey President, said: “I am delighted to welcome Paul as an Independent Non-Executive member of the GB Hockey Board to which he has been appointed from a very strong field of candidates.

"Paul brings with him a wealth of experience working in high performance sport and leading medal-winning Olympic teams and individuals which I am sure will help ensure the Board's delivery of GB hockey's Olympic programme. His internationally recognised credibility in terms of contemporary high performing culture will contribute to the Board's scrutiny of the programme with the ultimate goal being success in Tokyo in 2020." 

Paul will commence his appointment officially in November 2018.
