Forsyth joins Great Britain ranks

Alan Forsyth celebrates scoring for Scotland

Great Britain Hockey are pleased to announce the addition of Scotland’s Alan Forsyth to the Central Training Programme.

The Surbiton striker has had a blistering start to the season scoring eight times in the first three games to add to the 18 league goals he scored last season for the Sugden Road outfit.

The 23-year-old former Kelburne forward has 94 caps and 48 goals for Scotland and is the youngest player to reach 50 appearances for the Bluesticks.

He has competed in two Commonwealth Games competitions, in Delhi 2010, when he was just 18, and Glasgow 2014. He also represented Great Britain at the 2013 Australian Youth Olympic Festival and is the son of Scotland Head Coach Derek Forsyth.

Forsyth's inclusion in the squad takes the Scotland contingent to three as he joins club teammate Chris Grassick and Beeston’s Gordon McIntyre.
