BOA Board elected

The National Olympic Committee of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (NOC) today elected a Vice-Chairman and three Members to the British Olympic Association’s Board of Directors.

David Hemery was re-elected Vice Chairman for a two year period, with Simon Clegg, Richard Leman and Sarah Treseder securing a four-year term each as Directors of the Board representing the Olympic Governing Bodies.

Richard Leman, current President of GB Hockey and gold medallist from the 1988 Seoul Olympic games, has been re-elected as a BOA Board Director.

Sally Munday, Chief Executive of England Hockey, said "We are delighted that Richard has been elected for another four-year term. He is a real advocate for upholding the Olympic values and I am sure he will continue to add a lot of value to the BOA board."

The National Olympic Committee also paid tribute to three individuals for their outstanding contributions and service to British Olympic sport. Dame Di Ellis and Albert Woods, both of whom have concluded their tenure as members of the BOA Board, have today been named Life Vice Presidents of the BOA. Robin Money, who has been with adidas since 1976 (37 years), and who helped shape the first formal relationship between adidas and Team GB in 1984 was also awarded Special Recognition. Throughout his distinguished career, Money has been a major contributor to the growth and success of Team GB, British Olympic sport, the National Governing Bodies and British athletes.

Speaking after the announcement, BOA Chairman Seb Coe said “I would like to congratulate David, Simon, Richard and Sarah on their successful election to the Board of the British Olympic Association. Along with the entire Board, I very much look forward to their contributions."
