Great Britain women lost 2-0 to Australia in the 5/6 play-off but finished three places above their pre-tournament ranking and achieved their best finish at an Olympic Games since 1996. GB men condemned Korea to their heaviest defeat of the tournament winning 5-2 over the 2000 silver medallists to achieve a fifth-place finish which is the best overall performance at an Olympic Games since the gold medal winning side in 1988.

The Wessex Leopards men and the Pennine Pumas women were crowned 2009 Great Britain Super League (GBSL) champions on Sunday afternoon at Cannock’s Chase Park.
The second round of men's GBSL fixtures took place last night with the Wessex Leopards, Pennine Pumas and Caledonian Cougars all claiming three points.
The 2009 GB Super League roared into action in Cardiff at the weekend with the Pennine Pumas leading the way in both the men’s and women’s tournaments.
